Everything happened inside your browser — your documents were never uploaded anywhere, so there is nothing to delete. This tool never asks for your PAN number.
Applying for a PAN card online is straightforward until the document-upload step. Then thousands of applicants — and the CSC (Common Service Center) operators who file for them — hit the same wall: "Invalid image format or size" or "Uploaded photograph dimensions do not match prescribed parameters." A rejected photo doesn't just annoy; it holds up the card for weeks. The fix is unglamorous but exact: the right pixels, the right DPI, and a file under the KB cap — all three at once.
India has two PAN portals and they do not share specs. Using an NSDL-sized file on UTIITSL (or vice versa) bounces. Here is the reconciled spec this tool implements:
| Portal | Document | Dimensions | DPI | Size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NSDL (Protean) | Photo | 276 × 197 px | 200 | under 50 KB |
| NSDL (Protean) | Signature | 354 × 157 px | 200 | under 20 KB |
| UTIITSL | Photo | 213 × 213 px | 300 | up to 30 KB |
| UTIITSL | Signature | 400 × 200 px | 600 | up to 60 KB |
How the NSDL numbers are derived: NSDL's own form asks for a 3.5 × 2.5 cm photograph; at the published 200 DPI that is (3.5/2.54)×200 = 276 px by (2.5/2.54)×200 = 197 px. The signature's 4.5 × 2 cm becomes 354 × 157 px the same way. Some guides quote 213×213 for the NSDL photo — that figure contradicts their own cm dimensions and appears copied from the UTIITSL spec, so this tool uses the cm×DPI math. Verify against the official upload instructions of your portal — they are the final authority.
Use a recent, front-facing, passport-style colour photograph on a white background — the tool samples your photo's edges and warns you if the background doesn't look white. For the signature: black ink (dark blue is accepted) on unruled white paper, photographed or scanned flat in good light. Crop tight around the ink before uploading for the sharpest result.
The same specs apply to "Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data" (CSF) on either portal — a photo or signature update uses this exact flow.
Plainly: this tool only resizes the photo and signature image files you upload, inside your browser. It never asks for a PAN number, never looks one up, never verifies one, and uploads nothing anywhere.
Pick your portal, pick photo or signature, upload — and download a file with the exact pixels, an embedded DPI tag, and a KB count under the cap. Then verify against your portal's official instructions and upload with confidence.

It depends on the portal. NSDL (Protean): 3.5×2.5 cm at 200 DPI = 276×197 px, JPG under 50 KB. UTIITSL: 213×213 px at 300 DPI, JPG up to 30 KB. Pick the preset for the portal you are applying on — the specs are not interchangeable.
NSDL (Protean): 4.5×2 cm at 200 DPI = 354×157 px, JPG under 20 KB (strictest published cap). UTIITSL: 400×200 px at 600 DPI, JPG up to 60 KB. Sign in black ink on white paper.
The three usual causes: wrong pixel dimensions, file size over the portal's KB cap, or wrong format (not JPG). This tool fixes all three — exact pixels, KB under the cap, JPG output — before you re-upload.
The spec of the portal you are applying on. NSDL (Protean): 276×197 px photo + 354×157 px signature. UTIITSL: 213×213 px photo + 400×200 px signature. Using one portal's file on the other portal gets rejected.
NSDL: 200 DPI; UTIITSL: 300 DPI for the photo and 600 DPI for the signature. This tool writes the DPI as a real JFIF tag inside the JPG file bytes — not just claimed, actually embedded.
White (or very light), front-facing, recent passport-style colour photograph. This tool samples your photo's edges and warns you if the background doesn't look white.
Yes — the same photo and signature specs apply to "Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data" (CSF) applications on either portal.
No. It only resizes the photo and signature image files you upload, in your browser. It never asks for, looks up, or verifies any PAN number or personal data.
Black ink (dark blue is also accepted) on unruled white paper. Photograph or scan it flat in good light, then upload — the tool crops it to the exact signature dimensions.
No — not with NSDL/Protean, UTIITSL, or the Income Tax Department. Specs are best-published reconciled from guides and the portals' stated cm dimensions; always verify against the official upload instructions of your portal before applying.
