The 35×45mm standard, explained
The 35×45 millimeter photo is the international standard for passports, visas and ID cards across most of the world. At print resolution (300 DPI), that equals 413×531 pixels — which is exactly what this page pre-sets for you.
One honest note: this tool resizes your photo to the correct dimensions — it does not change backgrounds, lighting or face positioning. For the best results, start with a straight-on, well-lit photo against a plain light background, crop it to roughly the right framing first, then resize here to the exact 35×45mm size.
Tips
- Aspect lock is off for a reason. Passport dimensions are exact — the lock is disabled so you get precisely 413×531 px.
- Start with good framing. Crop your photo to roughly portrait framing first (face centered, shoulders visible), then resize — the tool only changes dimensions, not composition.
- Use a plain background. Most authorities require a plain white or light background — this tool cannot replace backgrounds, so start with one.
- US visa needs 2×2 inches instead. That is 600×600 px at 300 DPI — just type 600 × 600 into the width and height boxes.
- Print at 300 DPI. The pixel dimensions here assume 300 DPI printing, the standard for photo prints — tell the print shop 'actual size'.
