Tips
- Keep opacity low. 10–25% stays visible as a watermark without fighting the text underneath.
- Tiled is harder to remove. A single diagonal mark can be cropped out; a tiled pattern covers the whole page.
- It marks, not protects. The watermark is real PDF text over your content — any PDF editor can remove it. For real protection, lock the file with a password.
- Short words work best. One or two words (DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL) read clearly at any page size.

How do I add a watermark to a PDF?

Can a watermark be removed from the PDF?
Yes — be aware of that. The watermark is real PDF text drawn over each page, so any PDF editor can select and delete it. It marks a document as a draft or copy; it is not a security feature. If you need real protection, lock the file with Protect PDF instead.
Should I choose diagonal or tiled?
Diagonal places one large centered watermark on each page — clean and readable. Tiled repeats the text across the whole page, which is harder to crop out and better for confidential documents. Tiled uses a smaller size so the page stays readable.
Will the watermark make my PDF hard to read?
Not if you keep the opacity low. The default 25% is readable over most content. For dense documents, try 10–15%; the text stays visible as a watermark without fighting the content underneath.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The entire watermarking happens inside your browser with a local PDF library. Your files never leave your device, which is why the tool also works offline once the page has loaded.
Does EzySize add its own branding to my PDF?
Never. The only watermark on the output is the text you typed. EzySize adds no logos, footers or extra pages.
