PNG to PDF: screenshots become documents
PNG is the format of screenshots, exports and graphics — and PDF is the format of documents people can actually open, file and print. Design feedback, bug reports, scanned-style graphics and documentation all make the PNG-to-PDF trip constantly.
One thing to know: PNGs are converted to JPEG pages inside the PDF (at 85% quality), which keeps files small and universally readable. For screenshots and graphics the difference is invisible — but if you need pixel-perfect archival, keep your original PNGs too.
Tips
- Order matters. Readers experience the PDF in your sequence — put the most important page first and double-check with the arrows before generating.
- Compress oversized sources. A 4000px photo of a receipt adds nothing but megabytes — shrink images before generating for a lean PDF.
- A4 for official paperwork. Applications, ID documents and receipts look right on standard A4 pages with comfortable margins.
- Fit-to-image for visuals. Portfolios, albums and screenshot collections shine when each page matches its image exactly.
